V.Ships recognises the crucial role that training plays in the success of its seafarers, vessel operations and the profitability of the shipowner. The company employs a team of staff who organise and administer V.Ships' participation in training schools, cadetships, tailor-made in-house onboard and shore-based courses designed to train and retrain its seastaff and seafarers.

Trainee Programme

V.Ships' cadet and ratings training matches the need of the company's diversified fleet. V.Ships has invested in seven dedicated training centre around the world and has links to numerous training colleges in those countries where the company has recruiting centres.

Onboard Training

Supervised training "in service" is organised by dedicated training officers aboard training ships via modular courses for such items as:
 
• SMS Implementation
• Refresher training in basic safety subject
• Approved STCW training and certification
• IT and related instruction

Onshore Training
Which includes such items as: 

• ISM and safety management
• Bridge resource management
• Leadership
• Framo pump courses
• Commercial awareness
• Company & ship security officer

Specialised training

This is designed to meet the specific requirements of the company and of clients. Often courses are organised in conjunction with P+I Clubs, shipowners or trade associations
